WILMINGTON — On August 21,2024, William Glenn Thornton Sr. left his earthly home as he passed at Life Care Hospice Center, located in Wilmington NC at the age of 55.
Mr. Glenn was born on September 7,1968 and was the son of Mrs. Reatha Bivens and the late Mr. Glenn Ray Thornton.
He was the father of William Thornton Jr. (wife Baylie) and Blake Thornton. Mr. Glenn had three siblings a Sister Lynette Cribb and brothers Howard Thornton and Willis Cook (wife Leah). Mr. Glenn had four beautiful granddaughters that he loved and adored Lauren, Braylie, Brinkley, and Lacey. In speaking with Mr. Glenn’s friends, he loved bragging about them.
Mr. Glenn walked three miles to attend The Anchor church pastored by Mrs. Jamie Thomas. He was well known and loved by his community family and friends. Being “a ladies’ man” and “protector” are just a few of the ways his friends would describe him.
Mr. Glenn’s love for trucking was a special bond shared between himself and his son William. Mr. Glenn would often call or visit William to enjoy the” truck talk” between the two of them. His love and advise will be greatly missed.
No funeral service is planned, and a memorial service will be planned by his family at a later date.
