Wilhlemina Ehlers Stanland, 87

WILMINGTON — Wilhlemina Ehlers Stanland, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Cypress Pointe Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.

Wilhelmina was born in Wilmington on November 2, 1936 and was the daughter of the late William F. Ehlers and Rebecca Brown Ehlers. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Stanland and brother William “Billy” Ehlers, Jr.

Wilhelmina led a simple life in the Wrightsboro Community and was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband William “Billy” Rivenbark, sister Louise Perkins, son Fred Stanland (Carol), son Carl Stanland (Keren), daughter Helen Whitley (Ken), grandsons Kevin Whitley (Heather), Justin Whitley (Victoria), granddaughter Kathryn Theodasakis, two great grandsons Owen and Rhett Whitley; step children Cindy Rivenbark Coleman, William Rivenbark and Frank Rivenbark (Kim); step grandchildren Kathryn C. Howard, Sarah Coleman, Brandon Rivenbark (Katie); step great grandchildren Ariana Howard, Kieran and Arlo Stafford.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Her burial will be at the Church Cemetery.
