CASTLE HAYNE — Carolyn LaFay Brown Robinson, affectionately known as Fay, passed away peacefully on her 92nd birthday on July 26, 2024, at the home she shared with her son in Castle Hayne, NC.
Fay was born on July 26, 1932 in Wilmington, NC to Jefferson Gray Brown and Lillian Walker Brown.
She was a very active member of the Sunset Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wilmington. Fay was a happy, zealous evangelizer; always eager to share the good news about God’s Kingdom with everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed every form of volunteer work available for sharing her faith right up to the end, including personal Bible lessons with others. In her declining years, she spent many hours each week writing letters to her neighbors encouraging them to read the Bible to strengthen their faith. In their younger years, she and her husband Jack were privileged to work on the construction of several Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls throughout North and South Carolina.
Fay was predeceased by Jack Robinson, her husband of 54 years; and their daughter Rhonda Rae; one brother Charles Brown; and sisters Lynn Spooner and Betty Mickler.
She is survived by her daughter Jackie Davis of Enfield, NC; son James (Rob) Robinson and wife Beth of Castle Hayne, NC; granddaughter Teela Graves of Whiteville, NC; great grandchildren Jessica Turner, James Turner, Dallas Jackson, and Brayden Dyson; great great grandchildren Chris Turner, Braxton Turner, Jack Turner, and Sailor Turner; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sunset Park Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wilmington, NC on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
The Robinson family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the nurses and doctors of Amedysis Hospice for their care and support.
Please leave memories and condolences for the Robinson family here.
