WILMINGTON — Agnes Marie Ritchie, born on May 26, 1933, in Cox’s Creek, Kentucky, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Thursday July 25, 2024, in Wilmington, NC. She was 91 years old.
Agnes devoted her life to being a loving mother and a dedicated servant to her church parishes. She was a former member of St. Thomas and St. Margaret Mary parishes. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her family were the cornerstones of her life.
In her leisure time, Agnes enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and watching Kentucky basketball and professional golf. Her kind spirit and gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Agnes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis “Benny” Ritchie, her son Barry, and her daughter Lea Ann.
She is survived by her children, Mark H. Ritchie, Jean M. Hall, David B. Ritchie, and her seven cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Marcella Yunt, Jane Houck, Larry Houck, and Kitty Brey.
Agnes’s inurnment and celebration of life will be held at a later date at the St. Thomas Cemetery in Nelson County, Kentucky, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and legacy.
Memorial contributions in Agnes’s name may be donated to the St. Thomas Parish.
