James Preston Dunn Sr. passed away April 24, 2024 in New Hanover Hospital (Novant). He was born in Fayetteville, N.C. and resided at 4910 Ilex Dr., Wilmington, NC.
He fought hard to survive but his heart and body were tired. He asked to let him go in peace and hurt no more. To go be with the Angels.
He is survived by his Mother, Sadie Rivenbark Presser, Walter Preston Dunn, Father, brother Joseph Shane Dunn, sister Candy M. Daniel and her husband Billy Daniel. He also has 3 living sons: James Preston Dunn Jr, Jonah Dunn, and Devon Dunn. His grandsons are Jonah Dunn Jr., Noah Dunn and Alijah Dunn. Nephews include Jaxon Long, Zackry Padgett, niece Priscilla Padgett of Wilmington and Cody Dunn of Georgia, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. James, Uncle Timothy and Aunt Susan stood by him and the family through many trying times. James’ girlfriend, Thea, also was of great comfort to him through his ordeal.
We give heartfelt thanks to the ICU doctors and nurses who took such good care or James and gave the best comfort possible. Also, thanks to the nurses and staff on the 5th and 7th floor at the hospital. They went above and beyond the call of duty.
James had a great laugh and sense of humor. He is smiling down on us now.
He is with God and the Angels and we the family will miss him immensely.
