Laura Lu Winship, 87

Laura Lu Winship (Wilmington Funeral & Cremation)

“For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over Him.” (Romans 6:7–9 ESV)

Celebrate with us, the life we have in Christ even as Laura Lu Winship has moved from the pilgrim’s life of a stranger and alien in this world to the paradise that is to be present with Christ Jesus who is her Lord and ours. She would have you know this as of “first importance… that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4 ESV).

She was preceded into the presence of Christ Jesus by her parents, Charles C. and Carolyn B. Green, her husband, Robert Winton Winship Jr, her sister Carolyn C. Green and her grandson Caden D. Bailey.

She leaves for a time, her children, Robert Winton Winship III, Jennifer Winship Bailey, Jamie Winship, Julianna Laumand, Eric C. Winship and her brother Charles C. Green that they might continue in taking the gospel to the nations. She likewise leaves a legacy of Christlike character and sacrificial prayer to her eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

Those desiring to honor her ministry and friendship may do so by giving to Reformed Community Church of which she was a founding member. The impact of Christ in her life and the work of Christ through her to the benefit of others is impossible to measure.

Please share memories and condolences here.
