WILMINGTON — With sad hearts we share the passing of our dear Faye Clark Coleman on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was at home surrounded with lots of love by her family.
She was born September 15, 1958 in Wilmington, the daughter of Elle Hardeman Johnson and the late Charles H. Clark, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Clark III.
In addition to her mother Faye is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Derrell Coleman; daughters, April Monroe (Doug) and Missy Surgener; son, Derrell Coleman, Jr. (Robin); grandchildren, Austin Coleman, Garrett Coleman (Caitlyn), Riley Surgener, and Raegan Surgener; and great granddaughters, Sutton Blair Coleman and Berkeley Rein Coleman.
Faye was a fabulous cook, everything thing she cooked was outstanding. One thing she excelled in making which is something few folks can cook was beef jerky. She loved the beach, shells, and fishing. Faye was a loving, kind lady with a big heart, always thoughtful of others. Most of all she was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She filled her home with all good things, love, joy and sunshine. Faye’s presence in our lives will surely be missed.
At a later date toward Springtime there will be a graveside service at Riley’s Creek Memorial Cemetery.
Special thanks to the “Angels” (caregivers) that work with Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the excellent care that was given to Faye and support given to family.
Shared memories and condolences may be sent to the family here.
