WILMINGTON — Alice Gertrude Spells, 91, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
She was born May 31, 1932, in Wilmington, to the late Herbert Jay Tartt and Alice Belinda Churchill Tartt.
Alice retired from New Hanover Regional Medical Center and was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and American Legion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny L. Garrison and Joey L. Garrison and a daughter-in-law, Judy Garrison.
Survivors include her sons, Alvin Russell Garrison of Atlanta, GA, Robert Howard Spells (Katie Spells) of Hahira, GA and daughters, Alice Belinda Mullinax of Valdosta, GA and Stacie Douglas (Todd Douglas) of Southport; grandchildren, Kim and Rusty Garrison, Kelly Garrison, Jenny, Jessica, Christopher Mullinax, Robert Spells, Jr., Lucas and Lizzy Douglas; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and “her man”, Floyd R. Rifenburgh, Sr. and his family.
The family will receive visitors from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moose Lodge.
