WILMINGTON — Steffan Elijah Haulman, born on December 11, 2001, in Lenoir, NC, left this world on June 23, 2023, in Wilmington, NC. He was just 21 years old.
Steffan’s journey through life may have been brief, but his impact was profound. He touched the hearts of all who knew him with his kindness, compassion, and all-around fun-loving spirit. Steffan had a way of brightening any room he entered, effortlessly spreading joy to those around him.
Born to Melanie Dubel (Jonathan) and Richard Scott Haulman, Steffan was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He shared a special bond with his sister Sophie Haulman. Steffan also found love and companionship in his girlfriend, Lilibeth Zala, who stood by his side throughout their journey together over the past two years.
Steffan’s family extended beyond blood ties, as he is survived also by his step-siblings Chase Dubel, Hadden Dubel, and Olivia Dubel. His maternal grandparents, John Grant (Kristin) and Lizette Retis (Fernando), and paternal grandparents, Steve Haulman (Janet) and Shirley Redd (Ned), provided him with a strong foundation.
Steffan’s Aunt Beth Green and Uncle John Grant II also played important roles in is life.
