LELAND — Mildred Norma Henry, 91, of Leland, NC went to be with the Lord passing in her sleep at home on December 20, 2022. Born in Bolivia, NC to the late Genair and Cecil Hickman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Henry Jr, two sons Carson Henry and Eric Henry, sisters Eileen Hodge and Carla Randoff also her brother Aubrey Hickman. Norma, as she was known by her family and friends, is survived by her daughter Bevelyn Potter, son Gregory Henry (wife Janet), two grandchildren Julia Britt (husband Lonnie) and Eric Henry Jr, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
After marrying Floyd in 1945 they moved to the Washington DC/Maryland area where they lived for 26 years before returning home to Leland.
Norma was a homemaker who loved the Lord and displayed unconditional love for her family. She enjoyed reading her bible, gardening, family get togethers as well as her many cherished friendships. She will be greatly missed by all.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Wilmington Funeral Chapel.
