WILMINGTON — Raymond “Ray” Hawke Jr, 78, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Friday, October 14. Ray or Baby Ray, as he was affectionately known by some, was born in Wallace, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxie and Carl Sexton.
Ray is survived by two children, Courtney Swain and Trey Hawke. He was Grandpappy to his grandchildren – Myles (Hannah) Swain, Spencer Swain, Kaitlynn (Anthony) Silva, Hayden Hawke & Miller Hawke and great grandchildren – McKenzie Swain, Tucker Swain, Phoenix Silva & Waverly Silva.
Ray’s passion for music was no secret. He played the drums with many bands over the years but his love for playing with The Jetty Jumpers never diminished. While our hearts are hurting, we believe Ray is finally at peace in his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 10 in the Chapel Cremation Garden at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
