WILMINGTON — Glenna Mae Garner of Wilmington, NC passed away on August 15, 2022. She was born on July 24, 1939, in Burlington, VT to the late George and Dorothy Bennett. Glenna enjoyed various careers including working as a crossing guard, Avon representative, and working as a cook at a retirement home. In her free time, Glenna enjoyed bowling in a league at the old Cardinal Lanes in Wilmington and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, turning it into a family contest. She also had a fond love of animals and nature.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Zobie Dan Garner in 2010; a son, Clayton Clifford McDonald, II in 2001; siblings, Barbara Camley and her husband Maurice, Ronald Bennett and his wife, Marion and Carlyle Bennett and his wife, Betty. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Southern, a stepson, Richard Garner as well as many nieces and nephews.
All services are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Dementia Society of America.
