WILMINGTON — Mrs. Gaynell P. Meredith, age 73, wife of James E. Meredith, went to be with the Lord on Monday August 8, 2022. Mrs. Meredith was born in Whiteville, NC on January 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Johnnie and Essie Powell. She worked as a Medical Assistant until her retirement with Wilmington GI.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a stepson Michael Meredith; three grandchildren Michael James, Drake Meredith, Hannah Marie; and great grandchild, all of Travelers Rest, SC; sister Angelia P Price; nephew Jordan Lipsey of Spartanburg, SC; aunt Joan Davis of Wilmington; and a dear friend of the family Crystal Willett.
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, August 14, at Andrews Mortuary-Valley Chapel, 4108 S College Road, Wilmington, 28412. Interment will take place at 11:00am on Monday, August 15, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City, NC.
The pallbearers will be Johnnie Meredith, Kenneth Blakenship, Cody Blakenship, Brandon Blakenship, John Shavwer, and William Harris.
