WILMINGTON — Claude Henry Harker, Jr., 83, of Wilmington, NC passed away on July 5, 2022. Claude was born to the late Claude and Grace Harker, Sr on December 25, 1937. He spent his whole life in Wilmington, where he met his wife Shirley and raised his daughter Donna. Claude was a member of the Naval Reserves and participated in the moving and installation of the U.S.S. North Carolina to its current berth. He spent his work years working as a pipe fitter and title installer.
In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Donna Barnhill; siblings, Emory and Janet, and a nephew, Eric Baggett. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia Harker; nephews, Emory Harker of Wilmington, Mark Baggett and his wife, Debra of Winnabow and a niece, Tammy Soppressut and her husband, Dia of Columbus, OH and four great-nephews and nieces.
Entombment was held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Silver Lake Baptist Church, 4715 Carolina Beach Rd, Wilmington, NC 28412.
