
CAROLINA BEACH — Raymond Alan Nance, 66, of Carolina Beach died on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born in Charlotte, NC on December 29, 1955, to Thomas Ray Nance and Mary Emma Lilly Nance.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Greg Nance, Rodney Nance and baby Thomas Nance Jr.
Raymond served his country in the Vietnam war and continued to serve his community with his various hobbies, he was a Boy Scout Master specializing in map & compass, Den Father for Girl Scouts, coaching soccer, baseball, softball, T-Ball and he founded Pleasure Island Soccer Association. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing & crabbing, wilderness cooking and a huge history buff with a collection of WW1, WW2, and Civil War memorabilia. One of Raymond’s biggest dreams was to be on the TV show Survivor, he applied to be on the show and was rejected for having too much experience.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Brenda Nance, daughters Crystal Nance, Charlotte Parsons, son Raymond Alan Nance Jr., stepdaughters Jessica Srackangast, Barbara Rowland, sister Peggy Brower, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Wilmington Chapel.
