Donald Ray Bordeaux Jr., 71

LELAND — Donald Ray Bordeaux Jr., known as Ray, of Leland, died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at his home.  He was born in Wilmington on September 22, 1950, the son of the late Donald R. Bordeaux Sr. and Swannie Burns Bordeaux.

Mr. Bordeaux was the owner and operator of Bordeaux Salvage and Construction Company.

He was a loving, caring, giving Brother, Uncle, Great-Uncle and Cousin.  He was devoted to his family and friends and would help anyone he could. Ray spent most of his life working with his father at Bordeaux Salvage and Construction Company.  He held many positions as the lead foreman, electrician, and diver before becoming the owner and operator upon his father’s passing.  He also spent his time mastering a wide range of hobbies from beekeeping and playing musical instruments to becoming a skilled machinist who could make custom pool cues and leather goods like gun and knife holsters.

Surviving are his sister, Donna Faye Bordeaux Little of Leland; his niece, Connie Faye Little Lee and her husband Steve Lee of Carthage, MS; his nephew Clarence Graham Little of Raleigh; and his great-nephew Patrick Ryan Klitsch of Baton Rouge, LA.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street, Wilmington, 28401.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Andrews Mortuary Chapel, concluding with Burial at Oakdale Cemetery, 520 N. 15th St., Wilmington.
