CASTLE HAYNE — Beulah Adelaine Branch Yarbrough, age 90, of the Castle Hayne area, peacefully went into the arms of Jesus at home with her loving family on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
She was born on June 4, 1931 in Richmond, VA to the late Edward Franklin Thomason, Sr. and Annie Spooner Thomason.
Our Mema was a dedicated prayer warrior for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She would also lift the Lord up through song with senior groups at several different nursing homes in the area. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for all the new babies to welcome them into the family. You could always find her early Saturday mornings driving around Castle Hayne looking for yard sales. Most important to her was family. Beulah was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Beulah was one of the last Charter Members of Castle Hayne Baptist Church.
Beulah is survived by her daughters, Debbie Stephens Chirdon (Vince), Cindy Denise Hebert (Phil), and Sherry Deanne Noland (Donald); grandchildren, Michelle McBride (Bo), Benjamin Stephens (April), Morrisa Stephens, Miranda Brown, Joseph Owens, Sr. (Kanica), Nicole Owens, Dennis Owens, and April Noland; sixteen great-grandsons; eleven great-granddaughters; three great-great-grandchildren; many other “adopted” family, step-children, nieces, nephews and friends.
Beulah was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Herbert A. “Mickey” Branch, Jr.; second husband, Aubrey Forrest Yarbrough; sisters, Joyce Malpass and Mary Rackley; brother, Edward F. Thomason, Jr.; and grandson, Dennis Stephens.
A visitation will be held at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington on Monday, March 7, 2022 between 6pm and 8pm.
The funeral service will be held at Castle Hayne Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 2pm with Pastor Billy Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington.
