WILMINGTON — Linda Carol (Jones) Sanderford, 78, of Wilmington, NC, peacefully transitioned from this earth January 30, 2022 at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice Pavilion with her family by her side.
Linda was born January 2, 1944 at Mary Elizabeth Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Her childhood home was on Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh where she lived with Robert and Grace Jones. Linda liked crocheting, making quilts which she learned from her mother and mother-in-law, she was great at growing flowers and plants and painting, she liked reading her Bible and going to church, thrift store shopping and listening to music, watching movies and she loved a good meal, especially when she didn’t have to cook it. She liked laughing, fishing, bowling and softball but her real love was her dogs, most recently her dog Hazel.
Linda is survived by her five children: Mark Williams of Sanford, NC, Tina Sanderford of Winston Salem, NC, Judy Anderson of Port Saint Lucie, FL, John Williams of Raleigh, NC and Lin Summers of Wilmington, NC; ten grandchildren: Sybil Seawell, Stacy Pace, Rachel Williams, Kristy Hedrick, Tabatha Vick, Melanie Wheeler, Daniel Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Stella Summers and Alex Summers and seven great grandchildren: Paxton, Meadow, Thatcher, Emma, Cooper, Tucker and Hollie.
Visitation with the family will be at 2pm, with the memorial following at 3pm, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 College Road Wilmington, NC. Although Linda loved flowers and plants, the family is asking for donations to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive Wilmington, NC 28401 in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank the staff at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for their tender and compassionate care.
