WILMINGTON — Malcolm Ronald Stoneman – known to all as Ron, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at the age of 81, surrounded by his children. He was born on July 22, 1940, in Carroll County Virginia to the late Malcolm Ray Stoneman and Hattie Mae Easter Stoneman. In Washington D.C., at the age of 21, he married the love of his life, Kristin Sue McKenzie Stoneman, on November 17, 1961. They celebrated 52 years of marriage until the untimely death of Kris in 2014. He is also proceeded in death by a grandson, Noah Stoneman.
Together Ron and Kris raised four children; Ron Stoneman (Trish) of San Angelo, TX, Kenneth Stoneman (Michele), Melanie Sheraidah (Fareed) and Melissa Stoneman (Sandy) all of Wilmington, NC. In addition to Ron and Kris’s children he is survived by eight grandchildren; Cydney Ferguson (Gerad) of San Angelo, TX, Ariel Hughes (Bobby) of Broken Arrow, OK, Tyler Stoneman, Noelle Stoneman both of San Angelo, TX, Andrew Stoneman, Thomas Stoneman, Nadia Sheraidah and Norah Sheraidah all of Wilmington, NC; nine great grandchildren; Avery, Ayla, Lexie and Keith Ferguson of San Angelo, TX, Olivia, Hawk, Lily and Ember Hughes of Broken Arrow, OK, Selah Clayson of Utah, a sister, Diane Moore of Austinville, VA, a brother-in-law, Ike McKenzie (Linda) of Bellevue, OH and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving cat Sandy.
Ron worked for 35 years for Delta Airlines as a Terminal Manager. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, spending time with his family and a good cold beer.
A private service is being held for the family.
