CASTLE HAYNE — David Vance Pete, 81, of Castle Hayne died peacefully at home December 10, 2021 with his family at his side. He was a bed patient for 62 years due to an auto accident in 1959 and given the best of nursing care by his family and caregivers.
He was born September 7, 1940 and preceded in death by his parents, Charles Pete, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Pete.
He is survived by his brother, Charles James Pete, Jr., Mary Charlene Pete, Patricia Pete Burton and nephew, Russell Keith Burton.
Through the years of his sickness he had several attentive caregivers. During the past 13 years, Doris Faye Allen was special to David’s comfort and is our adopted sister. Our family is eternally grateful for all who have showed their concern and compassion over the years.
A funeral service will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
