
SOUTHPORT — Jeffrey J. Rahilly of Dallas, (Frisco) Texas died peacefully September 19, 2021 at the home of his mother in Southport, NC. Jeffrey’s mother, a former hospice nurse, and his brother Christopher cared for him along with the help of his nurse Crystal & Social Worker Kim from Lower Cape Fear Life Care. He is predeceased by his father John F. Rahilly in 2018.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Linda Bartlett Rahilly, of Southport, NC, his brother Christopher (Jennifer Clark-Rahilly) of Mason, TN, his step son Gianluca Pedroso of Frisco, Texas and his niece Virginia Hope Rahilly of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by his favorite uncles Daniel and Dennis Rahilly, his aunt Patricia Dawson(Leo) and several cousins.
Jeffrey was born in Hartford CT on March 8, 1978 and lived his childhood in New Hartford CT and Appleton, WI. He moved to Dallas, TX after high school and remained there ever since. He graduated from SMU in Dallas where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. He became a fully qualified pilot training at Monarch Aviation in Addison, TX while attending SMU. He was a flight instructor after graduation building his hours and later flew for Children’s Hospital of Dallas. Eventually like his father, his career turned to corporate aviation which included flying and managing corporate aircraft.
Jeffrey has so many friends it is almost incomprehensible. Everywhere he has lived he has developed deep friendships and has remained close to those friends throughout his life. He has a close pilot friend he has known since kindergarten in CT with whom he kept connected and he is remembered, loved and will be missed by his “Love Posse” group of friends in Appleton,WI. Recently in his darkest need, his fraternity brothers poured their love, respect and honor on him and have remained connected to Jeffrey and his family throughout Jeffrey’s stay on hospice. A common theme emerged about Jeffrey’s character: “Jeffrey was always there to help Me when I needed help.” He always took care of others before taking care of himself to a fault. Jeffrey also has a cadre of pilots with whom he has flown over the years who have loved and supported him as well. Several of his former clients and other business associates have also shared their support and concerns for Jeffrey during his illness. Jeffrey has touched the lives of so many people and It has been a great comfort for Jeffrey’s family knowing how well loved he has been.
Jeffrey’s cremains will be buried in the Bartlett family lot in Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster, MA at a later date along with his father.
Jeffrey ‘s memory may be honored by a memorial donation to The John F. Rahilly Memorial Scholarship for Future A & P Technicians which was established after the death of his father, John.
