Gloria Sherron King, 85, cherished time spent with family

WILMINGTON — Gloria Sherron King, 85, passed away after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 22, 1935, in Franklinton, she was a graduate of New Hanover High School. She was married to Harris N. King on Feb. 16, 1957. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and gardening. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother and loving grandma and will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lee Ida Sherron; and husband, Harris N. King, to whom she was married to for 41 years at the time of his passing in 1998.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Faulk, Donna King and William King; grandchildren, Ashley Halyard, Amy Allen (Rob), Kayla Gregg (Dan), Amber Theodorakis (John) and Conner Faulk; great-grandchildren, Paisley Allen, Harper Gregg, Carson Faulk, Silas Theodorakis and Benson Gregg; sister, Dorothy “Dot” Jordan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services will be planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable contributions in honor of Gloria be made to the Eastern North Carolina Alzheimer’s Association or charity of one’s choice.
