SHALLOTTE — John Thomas Chavis, 66, of Autumn Care of Shallotte, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020, at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Bolivia.
John was born Sept. 9, 1954, in Hamlet and was a son of the late Lois and Kitty Mae Patrick Chavis of Rockingham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Nicole Chavis.
Surviving are his brother, Bob Scott Chavis (Brandy) of Rockingham; two sisters, Lois Lee “Sue” Chavis of Shallotte and Martha Ann Chavis Griggs of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Richmond County Hospice Inc., 1119 US-1N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
