LELAND — Charlie Henry “Jake” Hughes, 76, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2020. Charlie was born Nov. 3, 1943, to Blanc Reynolds Hughes and William Grandville Hughes.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Joyce Hughes; father, William Grandville Hughes; mother, Blanc Reynolds Hughes; sister, Anna Sue Higgins; and brothers, Vince Hughes and Cecil Hughes.
Charlie is survived by his sons, Craig Hughes (Lisa), Tony Mason (Mandy) and Kenneth Mason; sister, Ruby Guffey (Fred); grandsons, Bryson Chase Hughes and Troy Mason; granddaughter, Tiffany Phillips; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Charlie will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Coble Funeral Service and Cremation at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 10, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington.
