WILMINGTON — Sam H. Ingram III, 69, of the Scotts Hill Community, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020.
Sam was born Dec. 29, 1950, in Wilmington to the late Sam H. Ingram Jr. and Mary Thompson Ingram.
Sam graduated from Hoggard High School in 1969 and served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1971. Sam retired from DuPont working from 1972 until 2013, retiring as a supervisor. He enjoyed boating, fishing, biking, wakeboarding and all water sports.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann English Ingram; sons, John P. Ingram, and his wife, Donna, and Christopher B. Ingram, and his wife, Megan; four grandchildren, Carrie B. Ingram, Britton Ingram, Avery Ingram and Carlie Flowers; and siblings, Laura Ann Holt, Michael Ingram, Michelle Giddeons and Samantha Ingram.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel led by the Rev. Sam Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
