LELAND — Danny Martin Milliken, 64, passed away Monday, June 1, 2020, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, after an extended illness.
Born in Whiteville, Danny was the youngest of 14 children of the late Laney and Caroline Milligan Milliken. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Milliken, Frankie Milliken, Mary Varnam, Vina Smith, Bobby Milliken, Carolyn Smith, Molly Inman and Harrison Milliken.
He enjoyed being outdoors and was a heavy equipment operator for many years. Danny also worked as a welder, dredge boat deckhand and built and maintained water and sewer systems.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Angela King Milliken; two daughters, Ashley Caroline Caison, and her husband, Daniel, and Jessica Nicole Milliken, all of Leland; son, Chris Milliken of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Sarah, Jacob, Madison, Amy and Abigail; two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Madilyn; siblings, Irvin Milliken, Nina Lewis, Johnny Milliken, Sonny Milliken and Jerry Milliken; and special friends, Tim Kearney of Leland and Pete McKeithan of Shallotte.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, the family requests, with gratitude, that donations be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
