WILMINGTON — Kevin Brent Shaver, 54, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020, at his home.
Kevin was born June 22, 1965, in Harrisonburg to Koln Sherwood “Bud” Shaver and Linda Dawn Payne Shaver, who reside in Kure Beach. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Vivian Payne.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Connie Shaver, Nov. 8, 2002.
In addition to his wife and parents, he also leaves behind three sons, Joshua, Shane and Korry; sister, Terri S. Anderson; nieces Savanna, Emma and Anna; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be private.

You are my shooting star, my best friend, my rock, and the love of my life. Life will never be the same without your love, your laughter and your kindness. Thank you for showing me what love truly means. You were always by my side, always there to lift me up if I was down, and always wiped away my tears, and, with just one laugh, life was normal again. A piece of me went with you, and you will forever be in my heart. To know Kevin is to know he was a great man. Kevin loved the beach, fishing, BBQs, and being around his family and friends. If you were around Kevin, you knew it was going to be a good time. His laughter was so distinct, you knew it was Kevin from a mile away. Kevin was a great man, loving everyone that crossed his path. He loved his family. The memories we have no one can take away. You will forever be in our hearts, and you are going to be missed more than you know. Make sure you have a glass of wine with grandma and let her hear your laughter and take care of Sawyer and Adler and show them the amazing uncle you are. We all love and miss you and know there will be no more tears in heaven. Until we meet again, all my love, Connie.
