WILMINGTON — James Donald “Donnie” Blake, 80, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020, after a valiant battle with liver cancer. He was born July 18, 1939, in Wilmington to the late Spencer Wright Blake and Thelma Ezzell Blake.
He was a lifelong member of Pine Valley Church of God, working at the church for many years.
James, known to his friends as “Donnie,” was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Louise Daughtery; sister, Jean Powell; and brothers, Robert Spencer Blake, and his identical twin, Norwood Ronald “Ronnie” Blake.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Blake (Wanda); daughter, Deborah Clark (Carlton); two grandchildren, Blake and Nathan Clark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside family services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
