
ST. JAMES — Carolyn Reim Freshwater, 74, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020.
Carolyn was born Dec. 27, 1945, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, daughter of the late Dr. Norman Herbert Reim and Minnie Evelyn Avery Reim. She was a military wife, moving several times with her husband during his 24 years in the U.S. Air Force. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ken Freshwater; son, O.K. Bryant IV of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two daughters, Tracy Carter of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, and Deborah Silber of King George, Virginia; stepson, Kenneth B. Freshwater III of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Avery Ramspeck of Winchester, Virginia; brother, Norman Reim of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren, O.K. V, Ashley, Zachery, Kaitlyn, Eric, Owen, Ethan, Caroline and Christian.
Services for Carolyn will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Carolyn’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; or St. James Fire Department, 3628 St. James Drive SE, Southport, NC 28461.
