WILMINGTON — Robert A. Sumpter Sr., 86, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019.
Mr. Sumpter leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Sadie Gerthell Sumpter of Wilmington; sons, Robert A. Sumpter Jr. and Juan A. Sumpter, both of Wilmington; brother, Thomas Spearman of Baltimore, Maryland; seven grandchildren and four great-children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mr. Sumpter’s life will be conducted at noon, Saturday, Nov. 23, at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S. 5th Ave., Wilmington. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Calvary Memorial Cemetery.
