
WINNABOW — Delbert Autry, 92, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019.
Delbert was born in Holly Ridge, son to the late John and Elizabeth Autry. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Autry.
Delbert was a mechanic in the U.S. Air Force until his retirement at the rank of master sergeant. He enjoyed working on mechanical things and had many accomplishments in his life, including being a deacon at his church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, as well as being co-owner and operator with his wife at 421 Ceramics and Autry’s 66, but what he most valued were his family and friends.
Delbert is survived by his sons, Delbert Ray (Sandy), Ronald Dean (Penne), Charles Duane (Robin), Kenneth Lee (Deanna) and Carl Eugene (Caroline); grandchildren, Angela, Michelle, Shiloh, Brandon, Jason, Stephanie, Courtney and Benjamin; and great-grandchildren, Hayze, Drexel, Chloe, Hailey, Logan, Kiernan, Auriella, Vincent, Lance, Emma, Spencer, Cayden and Lille.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral & Cremation Chapel with interment and full military honors to follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Presbyterian Church or Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department.
