WILMINGTON — Betty JoAnne Pack Elkins, 84, died after a brave fight with cancer. She was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Edgar and Mary (Stacy) Pack.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Elkins; newborn son, Ralph Elkins; grandson, Jeffery Jursik; and brothers, Robert Pack, Jack Pack, Jerry Pack and Danny Pack.
She is survived by her daughters, Annette Sumner, and her husband, Johnnie, Sharon Jursik, and her husband, Fred, and Pam Stack; son, Ronald Elkins, and his wife, Delia. Annette’s children, Tammy Stokley, and her husband, Michael, Mary Futrell, and her and husband, Jody; Sharon’s son, Howard Jursik, and his wife, Angie; Pam’s children, Anastasia Self, and her husband, Matt, and Kristen Stack; great-grandchildren, Zane and Gavin Stokley, Justin and Ethan Futrell, Anthony, Jacob and Olivia Jursik and Brighit and Sabine Self; and great-great-granddaughter and dear friend, Nellie Maulesby.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, in Wilmington National Cemetery.
