James ‘Jimmy’ Valentine, 48, admired for his work ethic and dependability

WILMINGTON — James “Jimmy” Valentine, 48, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019.

He was born and raised in Wilmington, the son of James C. Valentine Sr. and Carolyn Willaford Valentine. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ray Jackson.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Holly Valentine, and her two children, Kager and Kayleigh; mother, Carolyn Willaford Valentine; daughter, Samantha Valentine Schweitzer, and her husband, David; his Aunt  Brenda “B.” Benton, Aunt Joanne “Jo” Summerlin and Aunt  Rhonda “Dr.” West.

Jimmy loved everyone and was loved by many. He enjoyed going out and shooting pool, singing karaoke and going on adventures with his wife Holly, who he adored. He knew how to make everyone around him smile and laugh. Jimmy was always there to help you if you needed it. He was a very hard worker in everything he did. He might not have always been on time, but he was there eventually. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He was definitely one of a kind!

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Wilmington Chapel.
