CAROLINA SHORES — Jack Ruben Hardin, 91, formerly of Bostic, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Autumn Care of Shallotte. He was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Rutherford County, the son of the late Worth Hardin and Pattie Henson Hardin.
Mr. Hardin was a member of Old Shallotte Baptist Church in Ocean Isle Beach. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marie Porter and Myrtice Harrill; and three brothers, Jim Hardin, Hoyle Hardin and Bill Hardin.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Carol B. Hardin of the home; son, Mike Hardin, and his wife, Betty, of Loris, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Brad Hardin, and his wife, Sherrie, and Cliff Hardin, and his wife, Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Jake Hardin, James Hardin and Xi Hardin, all of Georgia.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at Old Shallotte Baptist Church with Pastor Rory Thigpen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Old Shallotte Baptist Church, 394 Longwood Road NW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469.
