Sean James Hogan, 56, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018.
He was the loving father to Casey Shea Hogan; beloved brother of Sharon Lotz, Paul Hogan Pat Hogan and Tom Hogan; brother-in-law to Bill Lotz, Marcia Hogan and Barbara Hogan; cherished uncle to Matt and Lianna Hogan, Victor Romero III and Julia and Jared Hogan; and bonus dad to Jessamin and Brandie Green.
Sean was born Feb. 13, 1962, in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from Buncombe Community College with an A.S. degree. He lived in North Carolina for over 35 years. His career as an automobile salesman led him to work at a number of dealerships in Wilmington. His final job was with Parkway Automotive Group. He felt at home there, and the love and support of everyone at Parkway helped him fight his health battles longer and harder.
His spirit was enriched by attending the Spiritual Soul Center in Wilmington. The fellowship and love of all the members and the loving guidance of Paula Zabkar was a gift beyond measure.
He was a member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge No. 343. He worked as a bartender and loved to bring family and friends there for good times with his Moose friends.
Sean will be remembered by our family and his friends and coworkers as a man with a generous heart and a quick smile. He was a father who adored his daughter, and an Irishman with the gift of blarney who had the ability to make you laugh. We will miss him dearly.
Sean’s memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18, at at the Spiritual Soul Center in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4313 Lake Ave., Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers or cards, Sean requested that donations be made in his memory to the Spiritual Soul Center; or Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Dr. Wilmington, NC 28401.
