WILMINGTON — Timothy Wayne “Tim” Cayton was born Sept. 6, 1953, and died Friday, Aug. 24, 2018. Tim was the son of the late Wilma Stevens Cayton and Elwin Thomas Cayton. Thank God he is set free at last from his struggles with ALS.

Tim was married to Sandra in 1974. Together, they have four girls, Kim Beck (Gene), Kelly Hammond, Shannon Reaves (Brian) and Claudia Gardner (Ronnie); grandchildren, Kalynn, Andrew, Tiffany, Alicia, Hollie, Heidi, Luke, Taylor, Adrienne, Hunter (Taylor), Fisher, Spencer (Carlee), Trenton, Grayson and Daniel; and great-grandchildren, Tucker, Brooklynn, Riley, Amani, Isabella, Trey, Ava, Lexi, Ethan, Stella and one on the way. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Thomas, Todd, Cindy and Toby. His brother, Terry, preceded him in death.

Tim was the owner of Cayton’s Well-drilling and Pump Service for many years. The truth of the matter is Tim was many things to many people, imparting knowledge to everyone. He was an engineer, a teacher, a mentor, the captain of his crew. “The Timinator” had a brilliant mind. He loved Jesus, hunting, fishing, racing and boating. Tim was a member of Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church, The Maco Hunting Club and the NRA. In his absence,
we have to “say it like we mean it” and “man up now.”

Tim wants to be remembered first as a man of God saved by Grace who loved his family and friends more than anything in this world.

Our family expresses gratitude to MGPC, the ALS foundation and the wonderful staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice. All glory be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The captain has left the plane and will be waiting on us in glory.
