Anna L. “Lee” Bellegante, 54, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. Lee was born Dec. 7, 1963, to the late Robert Shaddy and Joyce Sisk Shaddy.
Lee graduated nursing school as a registered nurse from Umpqua Community College in 1983. Being a nurse wasn’t just a profession for Lee, it was a part of who she was. She wore her heart on her sleeve and brought a powerful sense of purpose to her field of work. During Lee’s career, she saved and inspired many lives while serving in multiple areas of nursing specialties; R.N. Flight for Life, O.R., NICU, ICU and First Assist in the O.R. She was a patient care advocate, the patient and the family always came first.
Family and friends were life’s gifts to Lee. She cherished every moment with those she loved throughout every stage of her journey. She married the love her life in 1990 and from that day forward her life was always filled with love, laughter and friendship. Her passion outside of work and family was tending to her garden and her pups, Charlee and Annie; aka, the girls. Her passions reflected who Lee was: giving, nurturing, compassionate, motivating, honest and beautiful. She was never one to fall short of having fun.
Lee is survived by her loving husband, David Bellegante; two children, Lindsay and Nicolas; sisters and brother, Michelle Metevia, Lynne Hyland and Bobby Shaddy; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington.
