Debra Ann ‘Debby’ Rouse Fowler, 58, opened her heart and home to many foster children

WILMINGTON — Debra Ann ‘Debby’ Rouse Fowler, 58, beloved wife of Thomas W. Fowler passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 14, 1960, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, a daughter of Donald Henry and Perry Ann Manning Rouse of Wilmington. She was a graduate of Miller-Motte College and had worked at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center as a nursing and medical assistant. She opened up her heart and home to many foster children over the years.

In addition to her husband, Tom, and parents, Donald and Perry, she is survived by her daughters, Anna Johnson, and her husband, Peter, of Hope Mills, Heather Sullivan of Greenville and Jessica Helms of Wilmington; brother, Danny Rouse, and his wife, Jan, of Willow Spring; six grandchildren; soon to be born great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special family members, Jerry Taylor, Cathy Morris and Alice Wrench.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 27, in Greenlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. John Chase of the Ocean Isle Beach Assembly of God officiating.
