WILMINGTON — Kathy Elders Darden, 60, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at home after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 7, 1957, in Jackson County, North Carolina, to the late Virgil and Opal Lee (Pressley) Elders.
Kathy’s greatest passion in life was being a loving mother to her two children. At this, she was a great success. She and her loving attention will be greatly missed by Chris and Carrie.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Richard Stewart Darden; son, Christopher Darden, and his wife, Molly; daughter, Carrie Darden; brother, Tony Elders; sister, Derinda Morgan, and her husband, Kevin; nephew, Adam Elders; nieces, Emily Edmonds, and her husband, Jeremy, Katy Elders and Ryan Nations, and her husband, Matt; and great-nieces, Mason and Paisley.
Kathy’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Wilmington, with the Rev. Amanda McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
