LELAND — Thomas Earl Benton, 65, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 8, 1952, in Wilmington, the son of Earley and Mary Magalene Benton.
Thomas worked for many years as a truck driver in the trucking industry. He served his country with honor and distinction as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army.
Thomas is survived by his children, David Benton, and his wife, Rhonda, Jennifer Morales and Sally Rizzo, and her husband, Josh; grandchildren Joshua, Steven, Cadence and Madelynn; and sisters-in-law, Brenda Benton and Pamela Benton. Together with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Benton and Steve Benton; and sister, Brenda Benton.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 30, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington.
