
WILMINGTON — Jo Wysong Stuhr, 89, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 31, 2018.
Jo was born July 25, 1928, in Nitro, W.Va., daughter of the late Joseph Harland Wysong and Rose Dinsmore Wysong. Her husband, Herman F. Stuhr, and her sister, Berta Jane Mathes, preceded her in death.
Jo was a proud 50-plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nitro Chapter 153.
A talented artist, quilter and bird watcher, Jo especially loved telling others about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nana was her favorite name to be called. Her husband Herman was the love of her life, and she dedicated her time taking care of him and other family members.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Molin (Michael) of Fayetteville, N.C., and M. Jodee Kain (Bob) of Sanford, N.C.; four grandchildren, Nicole Ray (David), Jodie Nelson (Vincent), Matthew Kain (Sarah) and Dr. Nicholas Kain (Cynthia); six great-grandchildren, Mollie Ray, Piper Nelson, Hannah Kain, Madison Kain, Andrew Kain and Mina James Kain; and four nieces, JoEllen Barnhouse (Don), Linda Dillman (Doug), Nancy Nelson and Evelyn Hackett.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at Andrews Market Street Chapel.
