CAROLINA BEACH — Brian E. Balls, 41, passed away in his sleep Thursday, March 29, 2018.
He was born Oct. 10, 1976, in Kansas City, Mo. His parents are Jerry and Catherine Balls of Blue Springs, Mo., where he grew up. He was baptized and confirmed in Christ at Timothy Lutheran Church, Blue Springs.
He was married to Donna Lewis Feb. 25, 2012. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Braden Balls of the home; parents of Blue Springs, Mo; sister, Cheryl Kozisek of David City, Neb.; three stepchildren, Jenna Yang of Carolina Beach, Chase Lewis of Wilmington, N.C., and Malory Lewis of Rocky Point, N.C.; three step-grandchildren; and one nephew and three nieces.
Brian loved his family and family activities. He enjoyed watching sunrises over the ocean. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, hiking, and as a child, riding horses on his grandparents’ farm.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 5, at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, 17750 US-17, Hampstead.
