WILMINGTON — Christopher Angelo Brasili, 47, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 11, 1971, in Wilmington.

Chris attended New Hanover High School and later enjoyed working as a dental laboratory technician. During that time, he met his wife and best friend of 10½ years.

He was an enthusiastic collector, trader, refurbisher, and seller of “action figures” and enjoyed playing with them as well. He was passionate about his sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the UNC Tarheels, and constantly listened to “talk radio.” Most important to Chris was his time spent with old friends “hanging out,” playing basketball, and easily making new friends whether it be on a shopping trip to Walmart or just going to a restaurant. Chris never met a stranger and touched many lives along his way.

He was a very faithful man, loved God, believed in scripture and enjoyed attending Calvary Baptist Church with his family and participating in Sunday school at the church.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Cathy Wiggins; and father-in-law, Edward Sims Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Bethany Brasili; daughter, Kona; brother, Will Wiggins; sister, Rebecca Wiggins; aunt, Linda Edwards; mother-in-law, Joan Sims; sisters-in-law, Dana Clark and Kimberly Sims; brother-in-law, Clay Clark; cousins, Robin Edwards and Ray Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also remembered are his faithful companions, Mia, Sonny, Lucky and Nemo, his late guinea pig.

The family would like to thank Chris’s neurologist, Valerie Masotti, for her many years of care, friendship and dedication.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Calvary Baptist Church, 423 North 23rd St., Wilmington, with Dr. Donnie Lovette and Rocky Myrick officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Chris’s family asks that you consider a donation in his memory to the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina, Piedmont One, Ste. 5541A, 1920 West First St., Winston-Salem, NC, 27104.
