
BOILING SPRING LAKES — James Dale “Jim” Snyder, 65, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with his wife and daughter at his bedside.
Jim, also known as “Papa,” was born in Galesburg, Ill., Jan. 15, 1952, son of the late Paul and Geraldine Snyder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1972. Jim served as commander of VFW Post 10400 in Boiling Spring Lakes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia. He will be dearly missed by so many friends and comrads.
Jim was a loving husband to his wife, Linda D. Snyder; devoted father to Lisa Snyder, John Drago and Adam Kelley; “Grand Dad” to Brenna Snyder and Joey Drago; “Great Grand Dad” to Dustin Snyder; younger brother to Richard Snyder; and uncle to his nephews “Red” and Bob Snyder.
A tribute to honor Jim will be held held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at the VFW Post 10400 located on George II Highway, Boiling Spring Lakes.
