BOLIVIA — Dr. Francis Anthony Tarantino, 64, formerly of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., passed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at his home.
Born Nov. 10, 1953, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Doris and Anthony Tarantino, he attended Manhattan College and later graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Tarantino established his private practice in Hopewell Junction, where he practiced optometry for over 30 years. He most recently served the veterans at the VA Optometry Clinic in Wilmington, upon retiring to the North Carolina beaches with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Tarantino of Bolivia, N.C.; children, Christine DeVico (husband, James) of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and David Tarantino (wife, Lauren) of Ridgefield, Conn.; stepchildren, Alexa Stanziani of Houston, Texas, and Steven Stanziani of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; brother, Joseph of New Rochelle, N.Y.; sister, Camille of Yonkers, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren, Sophia, Annabelle, Julia, Rocco, Matthew, Nicholas, Olivia and Dominic.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport, N.C. A visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 24, at McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction, N.Y., followed by a funeral Mass on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Blessed Kateri in Lagrangeville, N.Y.
