
WILMINGTON — Walter McClain Moore, 74, passed peacefully from earth to his heavenly home Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.
He was born and raised in Lake Waccamaw. After high school, he moved to Wilmington and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. After his retirement from the U.S. Army, he went on to be a truck driver.
Beloved daddy, husband, papa, brother and friend, he was loved by many and will be missed by all. His work here is done.
He was preceded in death by parents, Andrew “Mack” Moore and Ottie Moore; sister, Clara Moore Lilly; and brother, William Moore.
Left to remember him are his loving wife, Brenda S. Moore; daughters, Nakoma Moore Malpass (Brad) and Katrina Moore Clagg (Bruce) all of Leland; beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan and Brucie; brothers, Melton “Buster” Moore (Irene), Ronald Moore (Judell), Carthel “Porky” Moore (Sandra) and Charlie Moore (Kelly); sisters, Geneva Young, Martha Sebrell and Elizabeth Rabon (Ronnie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Bradley Creek Chapel, with Pastor Graylen Mitchell officiating services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Daniel Malpass, Nathan Malpass, Brad Malpass, Bruce Clagg, Randal Rabon and Randy Stancil.
