HAMPSTEAD — Susan Smith Sheppard, 61, previously of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 24, 2017.
Susan was born Oct. 18, 1955, to Paul Wallace Smith and Maxine Dees Smith in Fayetteville. She graduated from Fayetteville Academy before moving to Wrightsville Beach in Wilmington. Susan was a chef and kitchen manager for over 25 years at Robert’s Market and other Wrightsville Beach restaurants. She and her husband, Todd, had owned and operated Sheppard’s Commercial Cleaning for 19 years.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Todd Sheppard; daughter, Callie Bradberry Kelly of Wilmington, N.C.; son, Birch Lee Sheppard of Wilmington, N.C.; sister, Kimberly Smith Wehinger, and her husband, Edwin E. Wehinger Jr., of Wilmington, N.C.; nephew, Edward Paul Wehinger of Wilmington, N.C.; and grandchildren, Maxwell, Vause and Brielle.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 29, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Bradley Creek Chapel.
