LELAND — John Leslie Ganey, 78, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was born April 24, 1939, in Southport, N.C., son to the late John Thomas Ganey and Ophelia Lewis.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Iris Robertson and Janice Horvath; and brothers, Chris Lewis and Dolan Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ganey of the home; daughter, Vicky Ganey, and her fiancé, Jay Joyner, of Wilmington, N.C.; three sons, John Leslie Ganey Jr. of Leland, N.C., Ronald Wayne Austin of Nokesville, Va., and Aaron Austin of Holly Ridge, N.C.; sister, Sherrill Howard of Hampstead, N.C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was loved by all.
