WILMINGTON — James Patrick Stenson, 80, passed away Sunday June 18, 2017, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1937, in Boston, Mass., to the late John J. Stenson and Beatrice Keeney Stenson; also remembered are his first wife, Ann Marie Mazzola Stenson; and son, James Michael Stenson, who preceded him in death.
James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed aboard a Naval mine sweeper. He was a talented woodworker and cabinet maker and was well known for his professional work in Massachusetts, Florida and North Carolina. He was a member of Basilica Shrine of St. Mary.
He is survived by his wife, Theodora “Teddi” Amidon Stenson; three children, Kathleen Stenson, Eric Stenson and Annette Stenson (Rob Kuhn); and grandchildren, Kire Stenson, Hana Stenson, Cali Stenson, James Stenson, Gregory Ellis and Olivia Kuhn.
The family will see friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, June 22, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, June 23, at Basilica Shrine of St. Mary, 412 Ann St., Wilmington.
