WILMINGTON — Charles Davis ‘Chuck’ Mullen, 84, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 9, 2017.

He was born to Carrie and Joe Mullen in Bailey, N.C., Dec. 26, 1933, where he lived until joining the U.S. Air Force.

Chuck stayed in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a senior master sergeant after 21 years’ service.

Chuck met and married the love of his life, Patricia, and they began a life of traveling the world and raising their two sons. He retired at Fort Fisher and began a career with the civil service for 19 more years.

Chuck was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a very smart, hardworking and loyal man. He will be wholeheartedly missed by his family, friends and community.

Chuck is survived by Patricia, his wife of 62 years; two sons, Mark and Gene; six grandchildren, Markus (Tanya), Melissa, Cari, Chase, Cory (Ashley) and Heather; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, at Andrews Valley Chapel with the Rev. Bob Kus officiating. Prior to the service the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
